Cowboy Day. YEE-HAW!

TODAY's theme at Union Hill was to dress like a cowboy/girl.  Leyton donned his new Sheriff's hat, a Sheriff's badge, and a red bandana around his neck.  He took his horse with him, too, and he looked like the perfect little cowboy!  Very sweet.  This evening at the school, Union Hill hosted Chris Cakes Pancakes, and Scott and I went for a pancake dinner.  As soon as Leyton knew there was a moonwalk outside, there was no time for eating pancakes.  He was off and away, and all he wanted to do was bounce around with the big kids.  We even squeezed in a little swing-set time before leaving.
Daddy got back this afternoon and was able to pick Leyton up from school.  They were excited to see each other, and Leyton is glad things are back to normal now.  When I walked into his classroom after work today, Leyton and Daddy were hanging out and playing with his friends.  It was so funny, Scott was sitting in the center of the room and had about three kids on his lap and a handful flocking around him.  Leyton was willing to share at first, and then he got a little territorial and wedged his way back into daddy's lap.  It was cute.
Oh, and another funny thing this morning.  As Scott was headed to the airport, he called and talked to Leyton.  For the first time ever, Leyton took the phone, held it on his own and had a conversation with daddy.  A big boy conversation!  Leyton propped the phone between his chin and shoulder, and I heard him saying "uh huh" - "good" - "yes."  With the phone on his shoulder, he was super attentive to daddy's voice and would occasionally pop a craisin into his mouth at the same time.  He is our little multi-tasker, and in that moment - he seemed so grown up!
